Rapture Pictures makes cinematic documentaries that put entertainment first while carrying real weight - stories of transformation, connection and the natural world.
Founded in 2026 by Sean O'Reilly and Sophy Crane and based in Sydney, the company grew out of Guided by Horses, their debut heartwarming and cinematic feature set against the breathtaking landscapes of the Kimberley, following Aboriginal teenagers as they navigate their path to adulthood, forming life-changing bonds with horses along the way. The film premiered at the Melbourne International Film Festival, with further selections at CinefestOZ, the Darwin International Film Festival and Wildscreen, and a nomination for the Kau Ka Hōkū Award at the Hawaii International Film Festival. It is distributed across Australia and New Zealand by Maslow Entertainment.
Sean built a career in digital content, marketing and production, working with leading Australian production companies, was head of content at one of Australia’s fastest growing startups, Sleeping Duck, before turning to producing and directing full time. Sophy is a cinematographer and producer specialising in human-animal relationships and vérité storytelling, with international credits including fieldwork in the Okavango Delta for the BBC, Secrets of the Octopus (National Geographic/Disney+) and Killer Whales: Australia's Megapod (ABC).

He made his feature debut with Guided by Horses, bringing a cinematic sensibility and deep curiosity to everything from intimate character portraits to expansive environmental narratives.

Sophy Crane is a cinematographer and producer drawn to powerful, character-driven stories shaped by the natural world. She brings an intimate, observational style to the screen, specialising in human-animal relationships and vérité storytelling, from remote wildernesses to emotionally charged human environments. Her work has taken her from extensive fieldwork in the Okavango Delta for the BBC to recent credits including National Geographic and Disney+'s Secrets of the Octopus and the ABC documentary Killer Whales: Australia's Megapod.
